Cambridge Road

This modest extension is sunken below the ground floor of the main house by 1.8m to create a dramatic and spacious vaulted kitchen/diner to the existing 1930s semi-detached house.

At the highest point the ceiling is over 4.5m above the extension floor, which is overlooked by a snug area at the higher level. The rear wall is carved out of the existing rear wall which is highlighted by the crisp clean lines around the perimeter of the opening.

The trapeze pendants  exaggerate the pitch of the roof to highlight the volume of the extension.
