Buckingham Way
Like many of KJC's projects, Buckingham Way involved the demolition of an old extension (in this instance a conservatory) to allow for a new infill and rear extension to create an open-plan kitchen/dining space.
KJC proposed many options to the client, one of which was a feature window seat to overlook the garden to the rear of the site. This window is also utilised as a picture frame window to allow for a vista from the front door when you open the house.
The dining area has a raised ceiling which is emphasized by the exposed roof joists above the space. The dining area is achored by the exposed brick wall which has bench seat fixed to it, as well as being linked to a bar area on the internal face. The space is linked with a compact but versatile utility space as well as a built in pantry, to hide away all the back of house elements, while you are entertaining in the open plan area.
