Grosvenor Avenue, Carshalton
An existing 1960’s house on a Victorian residential street, the client’s brief was to transform the house externally, introducing traditional features helping it blend into the characterful streetscape, whilst reconfiguring the internal layout to meet the needs of modern family living.
The front elevation was fully re-clad in hung clay tile, including traditional scallop tiles. New timber sash windows replaced the old UPVC frames, whilst the introduction of the new bay window at ground floor allowed for the transformation of an unattractive 1960’s house into the most inviting, characterful home on the street.
The project consists of an extension to the front, to replace the existing garage, creating a new enlarged entrance hallway and store. A replacement loft extension providing a larger master bedroom and modern ensuite with views over the garden. The reconfiguration of the ground floor to create a linear kitchen with breakfast/dining within the new bay window with formal dining housed in the new dropped level rear extension, alongside a garden snug area.
KJC also worked with the clients to create the beautiful interior design, which perfectly finishes off this completely redesigned and stunning property.
