Mayford Road
Mayford Road is a secluded side street in Wandsworth, full of beautiful Victorian terrace houses.
We were tasked by the client to transform the entire house, head to toe with the main works on the Ground Floor, including a transformation of the existing kitchen/dining space with an infill side extension to improve the natural light and flow at the rear of the house.
The new openings to the rear, Crittall doors (Jennyfields) and Oriel window (Maxlight) are unified by the zinc cladding, covering the existing house and the new side extension. The exposed joists and exposed steel beams add texture and create shadows within the new open plan, kitchen/diner.
The works also included the creation of a new WC and bootroom on the ground floor with feature joinery in the existing living room. We transformed the existing ensuite and family bathroom, whilst also creating a laundry on the first floor. This avoids the need to bring laundry to the ground floor and then back up to the bedrooms on the first floor.
KJC also provided design services for the terrace to the rear, creating a small seating area and barbecue preparation area. We have used simple box planters with builders rebar to act as a structure for the new creepers, which will cover the flank walls and fence along the boundary.
The level of detail executed by Silen Construction was exceptional throughout the entire project.
