Newlands
Newlands Avenue is a desirable private residential road in Radlett, Hertfordshire which is home to numerous large luxurious houses.
Our brief was to demolish the existing bungalow and design a 4 storey detached house on an extremely tight site. To maximize the site and incorporate the full brief from the client, we included a 120m2 basement which incorporated an entertainment space, golf simulator, gym, steam room, passenger lift and car lift. The key feature of the entertainment space is the inclusion of its very own Irish Bar, acknowledging the client’s Irish heritage.
From entering the house on the ground floor, there is a stunning vista straight through the house to the garden at the rear. The circulation space flows effortlessly through the house into an open plan spacious family room to the rear of the ground floor. The feature stairs span over a quadruple height void from the basement to the loft. This staircase is a prominent feature of the house which is visible externally through the 6.5m high glazing to the front of the property.
The upper floors include 4 spacious bedrooms, 2 of which ensuites, with the master ensuite incorporating a feature bath with a backdrop of a large triangular window on the front gable of the house. Two of the bedrooms include generous balconies, both of which overlook the garden and countryside beyond.
