Pret a Manger, 84 to 86 High Street, Sutton
KJC were appointed to convert two separate underused and underappreciated units which featured ground floor retail and upper floor office space into one combined building. The building in Sutton High Street now houses 3 floors of HMOs on the upper floors and a large retail space on the ground floor.
There was an emphasis on retaining the external character of the exterior façade and restoring its historical value. An effort was made to clean and preserve the existing brick and stonework details.
The internal layout for the upper floors was redesigned to combine the existing floor plans of no's 84 and 86 and create an efficient layout to maximise the space for each individual room. Minor extensions to the rear and roof helped the buildings potential be achieved whilst careful attention was paid to match the existing materials and finishes.
The ground floors of no's 84 and 86 have been combined to maximise the space and create a flexible open floor plan space, ideal for a specialist retail space which creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for customers.
