We were appointed to carry out a complete redevelopment of Fulham Academy in association with Thomas’s Day Schools. The development included a addition of a secondary school element to the existing primary school with all the associated services. The key to the new design is the large central atrium which links the two schools with cantilevered corridors overlooking the triple height space, linking the old and the new elements of the school.
The atrium is lit by tapered rooflights strategically positioned to maximize the light in the atrium as well as the adjacent classrooms. The secondary school wing includes a new gymnasium, canteen, science labs and 10 classrooms.
